On 5th June 2021, in celebration of World Environment Day, Yash Sewa Samiti (YSS) reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation and community wellbeing through a series of simple yet meaningful actions. The day was marked with a dual focus—protecting nature and caring for women’s health—ensuring that our planet and our people both receive the attention they deserve.  Tree Plantation & Distribution Volunteers and community members came together to: Each plant came with a message of sustainability, responsibility, and hope, especially in the wake of the ongoing pandemic. Milk Packets for Women To complement the environmental action, milk packets were distributed to underprivileged women, symbolizing care for health and nourishment. This thoughtful gesture helped bring immediate relief and reminded them that wellness goes hand in hand with awareness. Community Reflection “Pehli baar kisi ne paudha diya toh laga hum bhi kuch badlav laa sakte hain… aur doodh mila toh laga kisi ne sach mein humara socha,” shared a beneficiary woman from Nandram Park. A Greener, Kinder Tomorrow Through this initiative, YSS emphasized that protecting the environment is everyone’s duty and that even small actions—like planting a tree or giving a packet of milk—can nurture lives and ecosystems alike. As the nation faced the second lockdown from April 2021, many underprivileged families struggled to arrange daily essentials. To support them during this critical period, Yash Sewa Samiti started distributing basic dry ration kits from 30th April onward. Each kit contained: These essentials ensured that families had enough to prepare meals and sustain themselves during the uncertain weeks of the lockdown.
