Bakery Training for Adharshila SHG | 22–26 December 2022

Skill Building for Women Entrepreneurs In its continuous effort to strengthen livelihood opportunities for women, Yash Sewa Samiti facilitated the participation of members of Adharshila Self-Help Group (SHG) in a Bakery Training Program held from 22nd December to 26th December 2022 at Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences. The training program aimed to enhance practical skills and introduce women to new opportunities in the bakery and food processing sector.  About the Training During the five-day training, participants learned: ✔ Basics of bakery preparation✔ Techniques for making cakes, cookies, and baked snacks✔ Hygiene and food safety practices✔ Packaging and presentation of bakery products✔ Ideas for starting or expanding small home-based businesses The training provided both practical knowledge and hands-on experience, helping the women develop confidence in preparing quality bakery products. Adharshila SHG at Trade Fair | 14–27 November 2022

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Through Market Exposure A proud milestone was achieved when the women of Adharshila Self-Help Group (SHG) participated in a Trade Fair from 14th November to 27th November 2022, showcasing their homemade products and entrepreneurial skills. With the valuable support of National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM), the SHG members got an opportunity to present and sell their products to a wider audience. Products Displayed The stall featured a variety of delicious and traditional homemade products prepared by the women, including: 🥭 Homemade Pickles🍬 Amla Candy🥫 Other homemade food items and specialties Visitors appreciated the taste, quality, and authenticity of the products, which reflected the dedication and hard work of the SHG members. Community Participation for a Cleaner Tomorrow On 31st October 2022, Yash Sewa Samiti actively participated in the Swachh Bharat Mission through the Clean India 2.0 Drive, organized in the local park with the enthusiastic involvement of women and children from the community. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community participation in keeping public spaces clean and healthy. Celebrating Little Vamika’s First Birthday with NGO Children A beautiful moment of sharing and compassion was witnessed on 23rd October 2022, when the parents of Vamika, a little girl celebrating her first birthday, chose to mark the special occasion with the children of Yash Sewa Samiti under the Share Smiles Initiative. Instead of a traditional celebration, the family decided to spread happiness among underprivileged children and women in the community. Around 60+ children participated in the joyful celebration and received treats and gifts including: 🍹 Frooti🥐 Patties🍪 Biscuits🍬 Toffees🎒 Pencil Boxes On the occasion of Diwali, gifts and sweets were also distributed to women from the community, making the celebration even more meaningful and festive. Ceramic Preparation Artisan Training (RPL) | September–October 2022

Skill Development Initiative by Yash Sewa Samiti Yash Sewa Samiti continues its mission of empowering communities through skill development and livelihood opportunities. In this direction, a Ceramic Preparation Artisan Training under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program was organized in collaboration with NOW Foundation. The training program was conducted in two batches on 14th September 2022 and 8th October 2022, with 40 participants in each batch, benefiting a total of 80 participants. About the Training The training focused on enhancing the skills of artisans and individuals interested in ceramic preparation. Participants were guided on: ✔ Basics of ceramic preparation and craftsmanship✔ Improving traditional skills through professional techniques✔ Quality improvement and product finishing✔ Opportunities for livelihood and entrepreneurship The RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) approach helped participants receive structured training and recognition for their existing skills. Mission One Million Pads | May–June 2022

Promoting Menstrual Hygiene with Dignity Yash Sewa Samiti continued its commitment toward women’s health through its Menstrual Hygiene Initiative – Mission One Million Pads during May and June 2022. Under this mission, sanitary pads were distributed in different community areas as well as at the Vani Vihar Centre of YSS, ensuring that women and girls from underserved sections of society have access to safe and hygienic menstrual products. During this period, 16,600+ sanitary pads were distributed to support women and adolescent girls in managing their menstrual health with dignity and confidence. Purpose of the Initiative The mission aims to break the silence and stigma around menstruation while ensuring that women and girls have affordable and accessible hygiene solutions. Along with distribution, awareness was also promoted about the importance of menstrual hygiene and safe practices. Supporting Educators in Difficult Times – A Story of Hope

The COVID-19 pandemic affected millions of livelihoods across the country. Among those deeply impacted were teachers who suddenly lost their sources of income when schools and coaching centers shut down. During this challenging period, Yash Sewa Samiti extended support to Amit, a teacher from Rehgar Pura, and his sister, who is also a teacher. Both of them became jobless due to the pandemic and were struggling to manage their daily household needs. Understanding their situation, Yash Sewa Samiti stepped forward to provide continuous support through dry ration assistance, ensuring that their basic food requirements were met during this difficult phase. Along with ration support, the NGO also helped them explore online teaching opportunities and digital facilities, enabling them to gradually rebuild their source of income.
