On 17th March 2019, Sarita Bhatia from Yash Sewa Samiti as a convenor of Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti ,Uttam Nagar participated in “Dehdaniyo Ka Utsav”, a heartfelt and impactful celebration dedicated to honouring the noble families of donors who pledged or donated eyes, organs, or their entire body for the service of humanity.
Objectives of the Utsav:
- To pay tribute to donor families for their selfless contribution
- To distribute donation wills to those who pledged
- To create awareness about eye, organ, and body donation
- To promote the message of ‘Jeevan Daan – Mahadaan’
Highlights of the Event:
- Felicitation ceremony for donor families, acknowledging their extraordinary courage and compassion
- Distribution of donation wills to new pledgers who came forward to donate their eyes, organs, or body
- Motivational sessions by eminent doctors, social workers, and dignitaries, sharing facts, real stories, and the immense need for awareness on this subject
- Emotional yet inspiring interactions with donor families, showcasing how one life can give hope to many others
Sessions Led By:
- Doctors and experts from reputed medical institutions
- Representatives from Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti and other donor advocacy groups
- Legal awareness on the procedure, importance, and impact of posthumous donation
Participation & Impact:
- Attendance from over 150 community members, youth, and elders
- Many individuals came forward to pledge their organs or body posthumously
- Created a ripple effect of compassion, awareness, and commitment among the attendees
