Food Processing Training for Women Empowerment
As part of its ongoing commitment to women empowerment and skill development, Yash Sewa Samiti facilitated the participation of local women in a 5-day Food Processing Training program held in Ujwa village from 10th to 14th May 2019.
Objective:
To equip women with practical skills in food processing to help them:
- Start their own home-based businesses
- Join self-help groups (SHGs)
- Enhance their financial independence and confidence
Training Highlights:
- Techniques in making pickles, jams, squashes, and papads
- Basics of food hygiene, packaging, and preservation
- Sessions on marketing homemade products
- Guidance on accessing government support schemes and loans
Participation:
- Several motivated women from YSS participated with enthusiasm
- The training acted as a catalyst for self-reliance, especially among homemakers and rural women
- Networking opportunities with women from nearby areas pursuing similar ventures
Impact:
- Women gained hands-on experience in food entrepreneurship
- Many expressed interest in launching micro-enterprises
- Laid the foundation for livelihood generation and economic empowerment
