On 10th June, 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Yash Sewa Samiti (YSS) launched its first-ever Online Internship Program—a 21-day virtual learning experience for college students across India. Named Internship 1.0, this initiative was designed to empower the youth during a time when physical mobility was restricted, yet the spirit to learn and contribute remained high.
Purpose & Vision
The internship aimed to:
- Provide practical exposure to NGO operations
- Involve youth in community-based projects
- Encourage social responsibility and leadership
- Enhance digital skills and remote teamwork
Participants worked on live assignments, awareness campaigns, research tasks, and creative social media content, while gaining an understanding of the nonprofit sector and YSS’s ground-level initiatives.
Nationwide Participation
Despite being completely online, the internship drew students from multiple colleges and cities, all eager to contribute meaningfully while building their own capacity. Each intern brought fresh ideas, digital energy, and a desire to make a difference—even from home.
A Journey of Growth
For 21 days, interns were mentored by YSS coordinators, participated in virtual discussions, and completed tasks related to education, health, environment, and livelihood.
The program concluded with the distribution of e-certificates and words of appreciation for each intern’s commitment.
