On the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021, Yash Sewa Samiti (YSS), in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), organized a series of online competitions to spread awareness about the importance of yoga in building a healthy and balanced life.
This Pan-India initiative saw active participation from youth and students across the country, channeling their creativity and thoughts around “Yoga for Wellness”—the theme for Yoga Day 2021.
Competitions Conducted:
- Online Drawing Competition –
Children and youth submitted beautiful drawings showing yoga postures, peace, harmony, and holistic health. - Slogan Writing –
Participants crafted powerful and inspiring slogans promoting the daily practice of yoga and its benefits for the body and mind. - Essay Writing –
Essays reflected deep understanding and personal reflections on how yoga helps in stress management, building immunity, and inner peace—especially relevant in post-pandemic times.
A Digital Celebration of Wellness
Despite physical distancing, the spirit of unity and well-being was felt across states. The event encouraged youth to practice yoga regularly and inspire their communities to adopt healthier lifestyles.
From Participants
“Yoga ka matlab sirf vyayam nahi, ek zindagi jeene ka tarika hai – is baat ko humne aaj likha aur samjha,” said a participant from the essay competition.
Spreading Wellness Beyond Screens
Winners received e-certificates, and their work was appreciated on social media and youth platforms, encouraging more engagement in health-focused initiatives.
Because Yoga isn’t just a practice—it’s a way of life. And when young minds engage with it creatively, they help shape a healthier, more conscious tomorrow.
