On the eve of Labour Day, on 6th May, Yash Sewa Samiti launched a unique and heartfelt initiative to honour and support jobless labourers affected by the ongoing lockdown. Under our community pride campaign “I Love My Space”, we invited around 40 unemployed daily wage workers from the local area for a Cleanliness Drive in Vani Vihar.
I Love My Space: A Drive with Purpose
These labourers, who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic, were not only given the opportunity to contribute meaningfully through this cleanliness effort but were also reminded of the dignity and value of their labour. With gloves, brooms, and garbage bags, they took ownership of the community space, cleaning streets and public areas with pride.
A Small Gesture of Honour
After the drive, all participants were honoured and appreciated by the YSS team. Each worker was provided with:
- Rusk Packets
- Biscuits
- Milk packets for their families
This was not just a reward, but a symbol of respect, gratitude, and solidarity with the very hands that contribute to building and sustaining our society.
Real Impact
One participant shared, “Kaam se toh sammaan milta hai… aaj lag raha hai hamari mehnat ki kadar hai.”
Our Commitment
Yash Sewa Samiti stands firmly by the belief that labour deserves more than wages—it deserves dignity. We will continue to create platforms where every individual can feel valued, especially in times of need.
This Labour Day, we didn’t just celebrate workers—we worked with them, walked with them, and honoured them. Because dignity begins with inclusion.
