Empowering Women Through Awareness: Health & Hygiene Session (19 September 2024)

On 19th September 2024, a meaningful awareness session on reproductive health and menstrual hygiene was conducted, aiming to educate and empower women with essential knowledge for their well-being. The initiative was organized in collaboration with Unicharm India and India Is Us.

Breaking Silence, Building Awareness

The session created a safe and open environment where women and girls could learn and discuss topics often considered taboo. Key areas covered included:

  • Basic understanding of reproductive organs and health
  • Importance of menstrual hygiene and safe practices
  • Addressing myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation

Participants were encouraged to ask questions freely, helping build confidence and clarity.

 From Awareness to Action

To ensure practical support, sanitary pads were distributed among attendees. This not only improved access to hygiene products but also reinforced the importance of adopting safe menstrual practices.

Encouraging Open Conversations

The session emphasized that awareness is the first step toward empowerment. By normalizing conversations around reproductive health, the initiative helped:

  • Reduce stigma and hesitation
  • Promote dignity and self-care
  • Encourage informed health decisions

Impact at a Glance

  •  Increased awareness about reproductive health and hygiene
  •  Safe space created for discussion and learning
  •  Sanitary pads distributed for better accessibility
  •  Strengthened confidence among participants

A Step Toward Healthier Communities

This initiative stands as a reminder that education and access go hand in hand. By empowering women with knowledge and resources, it contributes to building healthier, more confident, and informed communities.

When awareness rises, stigma falls—and empowerment begins. 💜
