Women’s Day – Celebrating Savitri Bai Phule’s legacy of knowledge 6 March, 2020

Holi Kirtan, Adult literacy & Dry Ration Drive – A Festival of Faith, Knowledge, and Care

At Yash Sewa Samiti, every event is an opportunity to blend celebration with service, devotion with dignity, and festivity with empowerment. This Holi, our NGO embraced a holistic approach to social impact with a vibrant Holi Kirtan, the launch of an Adult Literacy Program, and a Dry Ration Distribution Drive for underprivileged women.

Holi Kirtan: A Celebration of Devotion

The day began with a soulful Holi Kirtan, where the atmosphere was filled with bhakti, music, and togetherness. Devotees gathered to sing praises, celebrate the divine, and invoke blessings for a joyful and meaningful Holi. The spiritual energy uplifted everyone, reminding us of the importance of unity, peace, and gratitude in our service.

Adult Literacy Program Inauguration: Lighting the Lamp of Knowledge

On this day remembering Savitri Bai Phule, Yash Sewa Samiti proudly inaugurated its Adult Literacy Program, especially for women who had never had the chance to attend school. This initiative aims to:

  • Teach basic reading, writing, and arithmetic
  • Build confidence through life skills
  • Open doors to better livelihood opportunities

The program was warmly welcomed by local women who expressed excitement about starting their learning journey, proving that it is never too late to learn.

Dry Ration Distribution: Food Security for Women in Need

To mark the spirit of giving, we also distributed dry ration kits to underprivileged women, ensuring that they and their families have essential supplies during the festive season. Each kit contained:

  • Atta, rice, dal, oil
  • Spices and basic cooking essentials
  • A message of care and solidarity

More than 100 women benefitted from the drive, many of whom are daily wage earners or single mothers striving to provide for their families.

Impactful Moments

One of the beneficiaries shared, “Padhai ka mauka milna sapne jaisa lagta hai… aur Holi se pehle rashan mil gaya, toh man khush ho gaya.”

Gratitude

We thank all our volunteers, donors, and supporters for making this day possible. With your support, Yash Sewa Samiti continues to transform festivals into festivals of change.

From prayers to progress, from colors to care—this Holi was truly special.
Let’s keep spreading knowledge, nourishment, and kindness together.
