From 1st March to 22nd March 2021, Yash Sewa Samiti (YSS) actively participated in the National Water Mission’s “Catch the Rain” campaign with the powerful message:
“Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls.”
This month-long awareness drive aimed to educate and engage the community on water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and the importance of protecting our water resources.
Outreach Locations:
YSS volunteers conducted impactful sessions at:
- Schools – engaging students with activities, discussions, and presentations
- Public parks – interacting with morning walkers and local residents
- Kirtan mandalis & community groups – spreading awareness through spiritual gatherings
Jal Shapath – A Pledge for Every Drop
Over 2200 individuals took the “Jal Shapath” (Water Pledge), promising to:
- Conserve water at home and in their community
- Promote rainwater harvesting
- Stop wastage of water in daily life
- Spread the message to others
The Jal Shapath ceremony was a powerful moment of unity, responsibility, and hope. From students to senior citizens, everyone pledged to be a “Water Warrior”.
Community Response
“Pehli baar samjha ki barish ka paani zameen ke neeche jaane dena bhi ek seva hai… humne shapath li hai, isey nibhaayenge,” shared a kirtan mandali member in Vani Vihar.
Ongoing Commitment
As we move forward, YSS will continue its commitment to environmental awareness, ensuring that water conservation is not just a campaign, but a community culture.
Because saving water today means saving lives tomorrow. Let’s catch the rain, value every drop, and inspire every heart.
