Project SABLA : EDP Training by NCUI (6th–9th May 2024)
From 6th to 9th May 2024, an impactful Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) was organized by National Cooperative Union of India, aimed at building skills and creating livelihood opportunities for women. Around 40 women actively participated in this transformative training program.
Skill Development for Sustainable Livelihoods
The training focused on practical, income-generating skills that women can easily adopt and scale from home. Participants received hands-on learning in:
- Candle making – creating decorative and utility candles
- Jewellery making – designing attractive, handmade accessories
- Agarbatti making – producing incense sticks with market demand
- Digital literacy – understanding basic digital tools for communication and business
From Learning to Earning
The program was designed not just to teach skills, but to enable entrepreneurship. Women learned:
- How to start small-scale businesses
- Ways to market their products locally and online
- Costing, pricing, and basic financial management
This holistic approach ensured that participants were equipped to turn their skills into sustainable sources of income.
Building Confidence & Community
Beyond technical skills, the training fostered:
- Increased confidence and independence among women
- Peer learning and support networks
- Motivation to form or strengthen Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
