Skill Development for a Stronger Tomorrow – ABC Adharshila Courses
Started: 18 July 2019 | Venue: Yash Sewa Samiti Centre, Uttam Nagar
With a mission to empower women through education and livelihood skills, Yash Sewa Samiti launched the ABC – Adharshila Basic Courses on 18 July 2019 under Project SABLA . This initiative focuses on building strong foundational skills among underprivileged women and youth to help them lead self-reliant lives.
Stitching Course – Building Threads of Independence
The flagship course that kickstarted the ABC program was Stitching & Tailoring, aimed at equipping women and adolescent girls with practical, income-generating skills.
- The stitching course began in July and successfully continued through August and September.
- Participants were trained in basic cutting, sewing, finishing, and garment making.
- Regular practice sessions, expert guidance, and hands-on projects helped build their confidence and technical ability.
Impact:
- Provided a livelihood pathway to over dozens of women, especially homemakers and school dropouts.
- Encouraged participants to start home-based tailoring work or take up stitching orders locally.
- Built financial independence and self-confidence, along with a sense of purpose.
- Fostered peer learning and community bonding among learners.
Message from Yash Sewa Samiti:
“When you give someone a skill, you give them a future. ABC is not just about courses—it’s about creating changemakers from the grassroots.”
With every stitch, our participants are weaving a better future for themselves and their families.
