On 5th June 2021, in celebration of World Environment Day, Yash Sewa Samiti (YSS) reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation and community wellbeing through a series of simple yet meaningful actions.
The day was marked with a dual focus—protecting nature and caring for women’s health—ensuring that our planet and our people both receive the attention they deserve.
Tree Plantation & Distribution
Volunteers and community members came together to:
- Plant saplings in public spaces, streetsides, and community areas
- Distribute plants to residents, encouraging them to grow greenery at home
Each plant came with a message of sustainability, responsibility, and hope, especially in the wake of the ongoing pandemic.
Milk Packets for Women
To complement the environmental action, milk packets were distributed to underprivileged women, symbolizing care for health and nourishment. This thoughtful gesture helped bring immediate relief and reminded them that wellness goes hand in hand with awareness.
Community Reflection
“Pehli baar kisi ne paudha diya toh laga hum bhi kuch badlav laa sakte hain… aur doodh mila toh laga kisi ne sach mein humara socha,” shared a beneficiary woman from Nandram Park.
A Greener, Kinder Tomorrow
Through this initiative, YSS emphasized that protecting the environment is everyone’s duty and that even small actions—like planting a tree or giving a packet of milk—can nurture lives and ecosystems alike.
Because when we plant trees, we plant hope—and when we nourish people, we build strength. This Environment Day, YSS chose to do both.
